Earth Day

03 / May

The Earth is speaking. Let's be the generation that listens.

April 22, celebrated as Earth Day, was initiated to inspire students to rejoice and cherish the beautiful planet. A myriad of activities were organised to sensitize the children on how they can be an asset in saving the Earth and motivate them to contribute towards protecting their environment.

The day began with a message from our Headmistress, who explained the significance of celebrating Earth Day.

  • Students of Grade I engaged in a ‘Waste segregation Activity’ wherein they were guided on how to correctly dispose wet waste so as to promote sustainable practices.
  • A ‘Plastic recycling activity’ was organised for the students of grade II which helped them understand the importance of recycling.
  • Students of Grade III made newspaper bags that helped them understand, how small changes can make a big difference.
  • The ‘Compost making activity’ gave the students of grade IV a deeper understanding of waste management. They were taken to the school’s composting site and shown how organic waste can be transformed into valuable fertilizer.
  • Grade V was encouraged to pack a ‘Zero waste lunch box’ and bring healthy food for their tiffin on that day.

Students realised that these small steps  carry a significant role in changing their attitude and practices - not just for the well-being of the planet, but also for their own health and happiness.
