GERMAN EXCHANGE PROGRAMME REPORT- 2025

16.07.2025 - Welcome in school

The students reached the school with their German partners and received a warm welcome by the school.

The school orchestra performed a piece of Music with various instruments. It was a wonderful performance to welcome Indian students and exhibit their Bavarian culture through music. Afterwards the school's new building was showcased to the students.

17.07.2025- Scavenger Hunt

Students participated in scavenger hunt through Munich’s Old Town (Altstadt) organized by the school. The students learned about the history of Germany and visited Marienplatz,The Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), St. Peter’s Church (Alter Peter), Königsplatz which gave them the opportunity to know German history and culture.

Few students spent their time in Ruhpolding and went trekking and exploring nature and enjoyed its beauty.

18.07.2025

Students attended classes in school while other students practiced for the upcoming concert and in the afternoon came back from Ruhpolding to school and went home with their respective German partners.

Students went to the lake beside the school for a small picnic and also went swimming in the lake.

19.07.2025 and 20.07.2025

The weekend is the perfect time to spend with the host families and students went to various places and had quality time together.

21.07.2025 - German Class

A new day and students were excited to attend the German class with Mr. Haas. Students enhanced their speaking skills.

They introduced themselves and discussed their food preferences. Video was also shown in class and every student participated and shared their Hobbies and other activities with the other students.

Indian-Bavarian get together in the evening

In the evening we celebrated the Indian Bavarian culture with music, dance and typical Bavarian food. Indian students performed on this day. They showed their Indian culture through various folk dances and music.

Similarly Bavarian dance and music took place in the school followed by the dinner with their respective host families. Moreover students of Gymnasium Gars organized various games for everyone present there.

22.07.2025- Volleyball Open-air

On this day volleyball matches were being organized in the school. Indian students also participated in the Volleyball match. The day was full of action and students enjoyed the game, learnt teamwork, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship.

Moreover students learnt that sports improves physical attributes like coordination, stamina, and overall fitness.

23.07.2025- Dachau- Concentration camps built by the Nazis in their territory.

Students visited the Dachau which was the first and the longest running concentration camp built by the Nazis.

This camp served as a model for all later concentration camps and as a “school of violence” for the SS men under whose command it stood. Prisoners lived in constant fear of brutal treatment and terror detention.

It is located on the grounds of an abandoned munitions factory northeast of the medieval town of Dachau, about 16 km northwest of Munich in the state of Bavaria, in southern Germany.

24.07.25- Deutsches Museum

Students visited the world's largest museum of science and technology in Munich, Germany, with about 125,000 exhibited objects from 50 fields of science and technology. It is the largest museum in Munich.

Students experienced in-depth knowledge of various fields such as agriculture, health, music, robotics, science and technology and many more. It was an extremely enriching experience for them.

25.07.2025 - Workshop- Rising Nationalism around the world.

A workshop was conducted by Mr. Forster and students participated and had discussion on the topic: Rising nationalism around the world. Students had a discussion about the nationalist movements in India and Germany. Students were supposed to discuss and exchange their thoughts and opinions on the topic.

In the evening- visit to Ederhof, an organic farm :

Students went to an organic farm and spent time with piglets and cows. They cuddled them and got to know how the animals are taken care of in an organic farm. It was a wonderful experience for the animal lovers and students had a great time.

26.07.2025 and 27.07.25

The host families and the students spend time together. They went to various places like Chiemsee and Wasserburg . Weekends were specifically for them to spend time together.

28.07.2025- German class and practice for concert

Students attended classes with their respective partners in the morning and German class was also conducted by Mr. Haas for enhancing the vocabulary and the speaking skills of the students. After the German class, the students practised their performances for the concert in the evening.

29.07.2025- Concert

Students attended the classes in the morning and in the evening a music concert was organized in the school. School orchestra performed and students showcased their singing talent. Students played various music instruments and the show stopper performance was the performance of Indian and German students where German students sang a song and Indian students performed a dance.

30.07.2025

Today is the day to say goodbye to the host families and German partners. Students were very emotional and with a hope to meet the German partners in India, students bid adieu their respective host families and partners.
