The 75th anniversary of an Independent India was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm at Father Agnel School.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the Indian tri-colour by reverend Father Carvalho, principal M Lazar Deva Asirvatham and vice principal Ma’am Mukti along with the members of the Cabinet. Father Carvalho, proudly eliciting the spirit of patriotism, then spoke about the price and the ideals of freedom. This was followed by the pledge of allegiance led by the head girl, Riddhima Chauhan. Principal M Lazar Deva Asirvatham also addressed the gathering, revived the memories of the past events and sacrifices that ensued in freedom and urged the students to realize the true meaning of freedom.
The programme which followed brimmed with the spirit of patriotism, expressed in the form of graceful and invigorating dance performances, a motivational poem and an inspiring skit ,with a sublime deliverance, on the essence and the importance of ‘Deshbhakti’ One could feel the enthusiasm of the students, kilometres away, even from behind a computer screen.
The event concluded with a soulful performance of the song ‘Tu Bhoole Jise’ by the Hindi choir.
