PLANTATION DRIVE – NURTURING A GREENER TOMORROW

In an effort to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to actively contribute towards a greener future, the Social Welfare Ministry, in collaboration with the Environment Ministry, organised a Plantation Drive at Junpat Village, Greater Noida, in association with Give Me Trees Trust on 27th August 2026.

As part of the initiative, saplings such as Jamun, Amaltas, Orange, Lemon, Guava and several other varieties were donated by the school. The team from Give Me Trees Trust had also prepared a variety of saplings, including Curry Leaf, Jamun, Drumstick,etc which the students were guided to plant at the site.

The students received hands-on guidance on the proper method of sowing and caring for saplings, gaining practical knowledge about the importance of planting trees and maintaining them in the long term. The representatives from Give Me Trees Trust also introduced the students to various tree species and their environmental benefits. They further demonstrated creative and sustainable ways of reusing everyday materials, such as using discarded milk packets as planting bags for saplings.

The drive proved to be an enriching and enjoyable experience for the students. Along with contributing towards the environment, they gained valuable knowledge about trees, sustainable practices, and responsible environmental stewardship.

The Plantation Drive successfully combined environmental action with experiential learning, leaving the students with greater awareness and enthusiasm to care for nature.
