An Enchanting Morning of Indian Classical Music

Father Agnel School Noida hosted a captivating SPIC MACAY programme on          25 August in the school auditorium, offering students an enriching experience of India’s rich classical musical heritage. The programme featured renowned vocalist Vidushi Sunanda Sharma, accompanied by Pt. Sumit Mishra on the harmonium and Pt. Gopal Mishra on the tabla.

Vidushi Sunanda Sharma began her recital with Raag Bilaskhani Todi, presenting the Bada Khayal, “Bairaagi Roop,” followed by the Chhota Khayal, “Kab Ghar Aavenge Mohan.” She then presented two evocative compositions in Raag Megh and Malhar, beautifully capturing the mood and spirit of the monsoon. A soulful Kajri in Raag Pilu added yet another dimension to the recital. The programme concluded with a lively and intricate Tappa, leaving the audience enthralled.

The artists’ expressive renditions and masterful accompaniment created a memorable musical experience, giving students a valuable opportunity to appreciate the depth, diversity and timeless beauty of Indian classical music.
