SPIC MACAY PROGRAMME - A MUSICAL DELIGHT

26 / Jul

The Spic Macay programme at Father Agnel School in Noida was a resounding success, featuring the illustrious duo Pt. Ritesh Mishra and Pt. Rajnish Mishra from the Banaras gharana. Accompanied by Sh. Pradip Kumar Sarkar on the tabla and Sh. Sumit Mishra on the harmonium, the event was a masterclass in Indian classical music.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an address from Fr. Carvalho, the school's director, who emphasized the importance of cherishing Indian classical music as a symbol of our national identity.

The Mishra brothers' performance was nothing short of enchanting. They began with Raag Megh in Jhaptaal, showcasing their mastery over the raga. This was followed by a soulful bhajan, "He Govind rakho sharan," in Drut Teen Taal, which highlighted their ability to blend classical music with devotional fervor.

The final rendition, "Sa sunder Re sunder ga bhi sunder hai," was an engaging song that got the entire auditorium singing along, beautifully portraying the beauty and power of Hindustani classical music.

The event was a testament to the contribution of the maestro duo to Indian classical music, and their ability to connect with the audience and convey the essence of Hindustani classical music was truly commendable. The students not only enjoyed the performances but also received valuable guidance from the two legends.

Overall, the Spic Macay programme at Father Agnel School was a wonderful celebration of music, and a fitting tribute to the rich heritage of Indian classical music.
